Model and actress Jaime King is reportedly shocked and upset after her ex-husband Kyle Newman was granted sole physical custody of her two children following bitter court battle.

AceShowbiz - Jaime King is reportedly struggling to cope with the judge's decision to give her ex-husband Kyle Newman full custody of their sons, James, 11, and Leo, 9. A source told The Sun that she's "devastated and embarrassed" with the ruling.

"She never thought it would go this far, she's not handling this well," the insider said.

The source emphasized that Newman took this step to ensure the safety of their children, saying that "he had to do what he needed to do to protect them." Newman, while still holding love for King as the mother of his children, is urging her to seek help and recover from her issues.

Although she "is a good mom when she is in the right headspace," friends and family of King are hoping that losing custody will serve as a "tough wakeup call" prompting her to make significant and lasting changes to her lifestyle.

The court mandated that her visitation rights be supervised and restricted to three times a week in specified time blocks. This arrangement followed her failure to complete a comprehensive rehabilitation program which included drug and alcohol treatment, parenting courses, and both individual and conjoint counseling.

Newman's legal team pointed out that the decision followed concerning episodes where King's behavior reportedly endangered their children. Newman claimed instances where the children called him for help, finding their mother "distressed," "strung out," "acting drunk," and inadequately dressed.

Serious allegations were made, labeling King as a "chronic drug addict and alcoholic" and accusing her of neglecting and emotionally abusing their children.

The couple's bitter divorce, which began with King's filing in 2020 and included an initial restraining order regarding custody, finally concluded in 2024. The situation remains delicate, with Newman asking for privacy to ensure the well-being of their children.
