Kim Kardashian's latest SKIMS campaign with Dolce and Gabbana just got a dose of sibling drama, but will the fashion world's dynamic duo overcome their past to create something truly iconic?
- Feb 28, 2025
AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian are no strangers to sibling rivalry, and their latest venture is proving no different. The recent episode of "The Kardashians", which aired on February 27, shows the sisters embroiled in a new fashion squabble.
The duo clashed while shooting the campaign for the highly anticipated Dolce & Gabbana x SKIMS collaboration. This partnership, which merges the Italian lifestyle of Dolce & Gabbana with SKIMS' signature comfort and solutions, launched in November 2024.
As cameras rolled, Kourtney, 45, expressed her reservations about participating, accusing Kim, 44, of "sabotaging" her look by making her hair resemble that of Shirley Temple while Kim flaunted "bombshell hair."
"I think I'm having a little regret... Yeah, probably a little regretful," Kourtney admitted in a confessional interview. She even mentioned experiencing "PTSD" from childhood bowl haircuts.
In her interview, Kim attempted to address Kourtney's concerns, saying, "I know Kourtney doesn't like her hair. First of all, we can fix it. Second of all, my hair is a full mullet. It's not like hairstyles that are modern that we would do here. We're like Italian girls on the street."
Amid their rivalry, Kim admitted, "I am so nervous to go in and ask Kourtney to do the Dolce & Gabbana campaign with me." Despite initial trepidation, Kim was surprised by Kourtney's eventual agreement. "Did you guys hear that? Did you get that on camera? She said yes!" Kim exclaimed.
Their history of conflict over Dolce & Gabbana is well-documented. Tensions flared after Kim joined the brand as creative director for the Spring 2023 Milan Fashion Week show, just months after Kourtney's May 2022 wedding where she donned several looks from the Italian luxury fashion house.
Kourtney had felt her feelings were overlooked and her wedding aesthetic was "copied" by Kim's business deal. However, Kim contended that she had deliberately passed on opportunities and postponed the project out of respect for Kourtney.
Despite Kourtney's initial skepticism and the emotional baggage from previous disputes, the sisters have seemingly reconciled. "This has been years in the making," Kim noted in the recent episode, emphasizing the effort that went into the collaboration. "Real blood, sweat and tears and fights have gone into this collaboration, so I feel good."
As fans eagerly await the results, one thing is for certain: the Dolce & Gabbana x SKIMS partnership promises to be as dramatic and fashionable as the Kardashians themselves. New episodes of "The Kardashians" premiere Thursdays on Hulu.
