AceShowbiz - At the opening ceremony of 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver, Meghan Markle and Nelly Furtado shared a lighthearted moment while posing backstage. Furtado posted a video on Instagram featuring the duo making playful faces. "They're beautiful, that's for sure 💞," she wrote in the caption.
To their surprise, Prince Harry photobombed them as he unexpectedly walked behind them, leading them to burst into laughter. The video was set to the tune of Furtado's "I'm Like a Bird," one of the songs she performed at the ceremony.
Furtado also shared a sweet message on her Instagram Stories, "Having a wonderful time at #InvictusGames with these gems."
Prince Harry addressed the crowd with an inspiring speech before the perfoamnces, praising the participants' perseverance and character. "You saved yourself," he declared. "The Games simply reveal what is already within you: that scarcest - and most precious - of the world's resources: character. A spirit of fortitude and perseverance that can never be defeated."
Besides Nelly, the Opening Ceremony also featured performances by Chris Martin, Noah Kahan, and Katy Perry. The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry in 2014, are a sports tournament for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans. Over 500 athletes from various countries are competing in 11 sports, including winter sports for the first time.
