AceShowbiz - Ryan Reynolds was not present at this year's Critics Choice Awards, but he managed to take home one of the top prizes. His superhero movie "Deadpool & Wolverine" was named Best Comedy, tying with "A Real Pain".
In good spirits, Reynolds took to Instagram, gushing, "Zing! Thanks @criticschoice - whole team @deadpoolmovie is thrilled. But wait a minute. Swipe [to the next slide] Huge congrats to @arealpainfilm."
His absence from the awards show came amid the legal battle between his wife Blake Lively and her "It Ends With Us" co-star Justin Baldoni. Accusations of sexual harassment and a subsequent smear campaign have led to countersuits, placing the couple under intense media scrutiny.
On February 7, the day the awards took place, Ryan Reynolds took the stage with industry heavyweights like Disney CEO Bob Iger and Creative Artists Agency CEO Bryan Lourd at a JP Morgan summit. He shared pictures from the event with a caption, "Those boys are SHARP. Surprised to discover my mom there. She wanted to see Iger."
Back in 2026, Ryan Reynolds also won Critics Choice Awards for Best Comedy Film and Best Actor in a Comedy Film, thanks to his role as Deadpool in the first film.
