The mogul, who has been in federal custody since his indictment on multiple serious charges, complained of knee pain, which has plagued him since running the New York City Marathon in 2003.
The hospital visit was conducted under the cover of darkness around 10 p.m. to avoid attention and speculation. Combs was returned to jail after the MRI, and the Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on his medical status for confidentiality reasons.
Combs is scheduled to stand trial on the charges in May. Despite multiple requests, he has been denied bail due to concerns about witness tampering. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, declined to comment on the hospital visit or any potential medical issues.
The hospitalization comes amidst new allegations filed by federal prosecutors, who accuse Combs of coercing two additional women into unwanted explicit acts. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges and his lawyer has disputed the new allegations, calling the prosecution's theory "flawed."
