Following the massive success of 'Wicked', Jon M. Chuis set to take audiences a whimsical journey in his first animated film, an adaptation of Dr. Seuss' final book, 'Oh, The Places You'll Go!'

AceShowbiz - Jon M. Chu, the visionary director behind the critically acclaimed "Wicked," is embarking on a new and exciting venture with his first foray into animated filmmaking. Chu will be directing an adaptation of Dr. Seuss' beloved classic, "Oh, The Places You'll Go!".
Slated for a theatrical release on March 17, 2028, this animated musical project, co-directed by Jill Culton, is set to be an exuberant cinematic event produced by Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, J. J. Abrams's Bad Robot, and Dr. Seuss Enterprises.
Originally published in 1990, a year before Dr. Seuss' passing, "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" is a poetic journey following a young adventurer navigating life's unpredictabilities. The screenplay for the film is penned by Rob Lieber, with original songs penned by the EGOT-winning duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, renowned for their work on "La La Land" and "The Greatest Showman".
"Oh what a team for my first animated movie," Chu shared via his Instagram Stories, reflecting on the powerhouse collaboration involved in bringing this project to life.
The movie joins other upcoming Dr. Seuss adaptations, including "The Cat in the Hat" and "Thing One and Thing Two". They continue the legacy of Seuss' adaptations that have enchanted audiences over the years. Other notable adaptations include "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!", "Horton Hears a Who," and "The Lorax".
Chu is currently riding high on the success of "Wicked," which earned 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. The Oscar nod came after it won Cinematic and Box Office Achievement at the Golden Globes.
