AceShowbiz - After two decades together, with a marriage that spanned 16 years and three beautiful children, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have officially separated. The couple, who met on the set of the 2004 film "Fantastic Four," are entering a new chapter with love and mutual respect.
Alba took to Instagram on Thursday, January 16, to announce her split from Warren. "I've been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years - both as an individual and in partnership with Cash," Alba, 43, wrote. "I'm proud of how we've grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals."
The actress emphasized that their three children - Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and Hayes, 7 -remain their highest priority. "We are moving forward with love, kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family," she added. "Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time."
Despite her public announcement, Cash Warren has kept quiet on social media about the split. The duo, who were married in May 2008, have long been candid about the hard work required to maintain their relationship while raising their children.
"It's all rosy for two and a half years. But then after that, you become roommates," Alba explained during a 2021 interview with Katherine Schwarzenegger. She described their relationship as one where they had to continually work on communication and trust issues.
The couple's journey together had its challenges, as a source revealed to Us Weekly. Despite undergoing therapy to address their issues, the trust between them faced numerous tests over the years. "There were trust issues in the past which led to many arguments. … The marriage ran its course. Their communication hadn't been great," the insider said.
In reflection, Alba and Warren had strengths that allowed them to tackle obstacles together. Warren once shared that "unplugging" was big for their relationship, enjoying walks and good food together, and even participating in spiritual journeys with Alba.
"Jessica is on an awesome spiritual journey right now. I'll do sound baths with her. I'll learn about crystals. I'll get my charts read. I'll learn about it alongside her and she's always opening me up to new things," he told Us Weekly in 2024.
Their recent family outings, including a trip to Universal Studios to celebrate Hayes' birthday, showed a united front and their commitment to co-parenting and supporting each other through this transition.
