In the ongoing legal battle surrounding the film 'It Ends With Us,' director Justin Baldoni has launched a $400 million countersuit against actress Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

AceShowbiz - A behind-the-scenes battle of alleged extortion, defamation, and power plays is shaking up Hollywood as Justin Baldoni pursues a hefty $400 million lawsuit against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist team.

The lawsuit, filed in the Southern District of New York, accuses Lively, Reynolds, publicist Leslie Sloane, and her PR firm Vision PR, Inc. of civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy, among other allegations.

Baldoni, along with his production company Wayfarer Studios, producer Jamey Heath, and publicists Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, claim that Lively's team endeavored to seize control of the film "It Ends With Us" by manipulating the media with doctored information.

Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, "This lawsuit is a legal action based on an overwhelming amount of untampered evidence detailing Blake Lively and her team's duplicitous attempt to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team and their respective companies by disseminating grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media."

"It is clear based on our own all out willingness to provide all complete text messages, emails, video footage and other documentary evidence that was shared between the parties in real time, that this is a battle she will not win and will certainly regret."

The conflict escalated after Lively lodged her own complaints, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and orchestrating a covert smear campaign against her. In response, Baldoni initially sued The New York Times for allegedly collaborating with Lively's team to tarnish his reputation. The battle has highlighted claims of misconduct, including unauthorized changes to the film and alleged inappropriate behaviors on set.

The feud between the Hollywood heavyweights has not only captivated audiences but also emphasized the complexities of relationships within the industry. Baldoni contends that Reynolds pressured WME to drop him, leading to his removal from marketing efforts for the film.

Both sides maintain their innocence and have vowed to present comprehensive evidence to substantiate their positions. Amidst this turmoil, "It Ends With Us" has experienced substantial box office success, grossing $350.9 million against a $25 million budget. The repercussions of this high-stakes legal drama continue to unfold, promising more revelations and clashes in the months to come.
