AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian announced that her clothing brand, SKIMS, is donating underwear, clothing, and socks to families displaced by the Los Angeles wildfires. "We have donated to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation providing critical resources to the heroic first responders protecting our city," the reality star and businesswoman wrote on her Instagram Story Friday, January 10.
To further support those in need, SKIMS made a sizable donation to Baby2Baby, a nonprofit organization providing children in need with diapers, clothing, and other basic necessities.
"As our community faces the devastation of the Los Angeles fires, our hearts are with all those impacted, and we are committed to helping during this challenging time," Kardashian wrote in another Instagram Story slide.
Kim encouraged her fans to contribute as well, stressing the importance of community support. "Join us in supporting these incredible organizations by donating, volunteering, or raising awareness of the important work they do. Together, we can bring hope and relief to those who need it most," she urged, providing links to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and Baby2Baby for donations.
The Kardashians were not immediately endangered by the fires, as their homes are located in areas that were initially spared. However, on Thursday, a mandatory evacuation was ordered as the Kenneth Fire consumed 1,000 acres near Calabasas, where the family resides. Fortunately, the evacuation mandate was lifted later that evening, and no reports of damage to their homes surfaced.
Khloe Kardashian revealed on her Instagram Story that the family also donated "hundreds" of meals from the renowned Carousel Restaurant to Los Angeles firefighters. "They whipped up hundreds of individual meals for so many firefighters, volunteers, first responders, and we could not be more thankful!" Khloé wrote. "Thank you for putting your lives on the line for all of us!"
As the fires continue to impact large areas of Los Angeles, the Kardashians are using their platform to support the community and those risking their lives to save others.
