James Gunn's vision for the DC Universe is off to a strong start with David Corenswet's Superman, but the wait for the new Batman in 'The Brave and The Bold' seems far from over.

AceShowbiz - Fans of the Caped Crusader have been eagerly anticipating the release of new Batman movie "The Brave and the Bold" ever since it was announced by James Gunn.
Andy Muschietti, known for his work on "The Flash" and "IT," is set to direct the movie but recently revealed on the podcast "California Secreta" that "The Batman [The Brave and The Bold] project has been postponed a little bit. So I might do another film before that."
This is in line with James Gunn's strict approach to project development. According to Gunn, projects will not move forward until he is completely satisfied with the scripts.
He reiterated this stance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, stating, "I have to feel it in my heart… Other things aren't quite there yet. Booster Gold's not quite there, Waller isn't quite there, Brave and the Bold isn't quite there. They're not quite where I want them to be yet."
Back in June 2023 when Muschietti was officially attached to direct "The Brave and The Bold," fans hoped this would signal significant progress. However, the immediate critical and commercial underperformance of "The Flash" raised questions about whether Muschietti was the right choice. Despite some memorable moments featuring Michael Keaton as Batman, the overall reception of "The Flash" left fans skeptical.
With Muschietti confirming that the script for "The Brave and The Bold" is still in development and he may take on another film project before it, the likelihood of seeing this new Batman movie anytime soon is slim.
Casting has not even begun, and notable actors such as Alan Ritchson and Jensen Ackles have publicly expressed interest in the role. Nevertheless, until Gunn and the writers finalize a script that meets their high standards, the wait continues.
As of now, there is no confirmed release date for "The Brave and The Bold." James Gunn has been open about his approach, emphasizing that DC projects will remain grounded in strong storytelling. "It's going to be based always on that, on the story, because at the end of the day if we're happy with the story that we're telling, that's what matters most," Gunn asserted.
In the meantime, fans can look forward to James Gunn's Superman movie and other promising projects in the DC Universe. While the anticipation for Batman's return under Gunn's vision grows, patience will be key as the team works to deliver a film that lives up to fans' expectations.
