The 77-year-old iconic action star and politician is stepping into the shoes of Kris Kringle in the upcoming holiday comedy, 'The Man with the Bag', which also stars Alan Ritchson.

AceShowbiz - Arnold Schwarzenegger' is officially returning to the Christmas film genre. This time, he's playing none other than Santa Claus himself. The star of 1996's "Jingle All the Way" recently shared that he's started filming the Amazon MGM Studios film "The Man With the Bag" with co-star Alan Ritchson ("[m=Reacher", "Fast X").

The film's plot follows Santa Claus when his magic bag is stolen. Desperate, he turns to Vance, a former thief from his naughty list, to help him get it back. Together, along with Santa's daughter and a group of misfit elves, they must pull off the greatest heist of their lives to save Christmas.

Schwarzenegger, 77, shared a photo on set showcasing his full festive attire – a red coat, scarf, and Christmas sweater. Details about the film are limited, but it's expected to be a family-friendly comedy that brings festive cheer to audiences.

In an interview last year, Schwarzenegger opened up about filming action projects in his 70s, admitting that his body's capabilities have changed. However, he remains a "good judge" of his abilities and takes precautions to avoid serious injuries.

Joining Schwarzenegger is Alan Ritchson, who will play Vance. The film is directed by Adam Shankman ("A Walk to Remember", "Hairspray"), and Allan Rice ("Stuck in the Middle") wrote the screenplay. Producers include Ritchson, Lawrence Grey, Ben Everard, Reg Tigerman and Dan Spilo.

A release date for "The Man with the Bag" has not yet been announced.
