AceShowbiz - "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse", the conclusion to the critically acclaimed animated trilogy, has undergone significant release delays. Sony Pictures has confirmed that the film will not be released in 2025, as previously planned.
According to Deadline, Sony is prioritizing the quality of the film and taking "a lot of tender loving care" to ensure its success. The studio had initially scheduled "Beyond the Spider-Verse" for a March 2024 release, but removed it from its slate without providing a new date.
Sources close to the project have refuted rumors that the film has been scrapped or faces creative difficulties. However, actor Jharrel Jerome, who voices Miles Morales in the "Spider-Verse" trilogy, has stated that he has not yet recorded his lines for "Beyond the Spider-Verse".
The delay is attributed to several factors. The second film in the trilogy, "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", took five years to produce. Additionally, a Vulture report alleged challenging working conditions on "Across the Spider-Verse", including long hours and multiple revisions.
To address these issues and ensure a polished film, Sony is providing the team behind "Beyond the Spider-Verse" with ample time. A 2026 release window is now considered likely, allowing for at least two additional years of production and post-production.
The "Spider-Verse" franchise has consistently pushed the boundaries of animation while delivering compelling Spider-Man narratives. With the additional time granted, fans can anticipate an exceptional conclusion to Miles Morales' animated adventures.
