The 'CONAN' host faces an unimaginable sorrow as his parents, Dr. Thomas O'Brien and Ruth Reardon O'Brien, recently passed away within three days of each other.

AceShowbiz - Conan O'Brien is grieving the loss of both of his parents within days. His mother, Ruth Reardon O'Brien, passed away peacefully at age 92 on December 12, just three days after his father, Dr. Thomas O'Brien, died at age 95.

Dr. O'Brien, a renowned physician and epidemiologist, dedicated over 60 years to his field at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital. Ruth, a trailblazing attorney, made history as one of the only four women in her Yale Law School class of 1956. She later became the second female partner at her law firm.

Conan has spoken publicly about the loss of his father, describing him as "the most interesting person I've ever met" and "proof that there's no such thing as perpetual motion." He fondly recalled his father's introduction to comedy classics and his infectious laughter.

The couple were married for 66 years and raised six children, including Conan, instilling in them a love of stand-up comedy and an appreciation for life's variety.

A joint funeral mass will be held for the couple on Wednesday, December 18. In addition to Conan, they are survived by five other children (Neal, Jane, Justin, Kate, and Luke) and nine grandchildren.

Conan shared his grief, "For the rest of my time on earth, I will be hearing from people who want to talk with me about my dad... He happens to be my father. If I met him randomly in a hotel lobby, I'd think, 'Who the hell is this guy? He's the most interesting person I've ever met.' "

The devastating news comes as Conan prepares to host the Oscars for the first time on March 2, 2025.
