Thom Christopher, known for his role as the villainous Carlo Hesser on the soap opera 'One Life to Live', has passed away at the age of 84 after a long illness.

AceShowbiz - Thom Christopher, the actor who portrayed the mobster Carlo Hesser and his meek twin brother Mortimer Bern on ABC's "One Life to Live", has died. He was 84. Christopher died Thursday, December 5 in a New York hospital after a long illness, according to his friend, photographer Steven Bergman.
Born in Queens, New York, on October 5, 1940, Christopher began his acting career in the 1970s on Broadway and on primetime dramas such as "Cannon", "Kojak" and "T.J. Hooker".
In 1990, he joined "One Life to Live" as Carlo, a drug trafficker who sought revenge against the Buchanan family after his son was killed. After Carlo's supposed death in 1992, Christopher continued to appear as his twin brother Mortimer before returning as Carlo in several stints from 1996-2008.
He earned a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 1992 for his portrayal of Carlo Hesser. He was also nominated in the same category in 1993 and 1994 for his roles on "One Life to Live" and "Loving", respectively.
Other notable roles for Christopher included the stoic, half-man, half-bird alien Hawk on "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century", the villainous Dante Partou on "Loving", and Colonel Dax on "Guiding Light".
Christopher's passing marks the latest loss for the "One Life to Live" family, following the deaths of Ellen Holly, Kamar de los Reyes and Andrea Evans in recent years.
His friend and former "OTL" co-star Anthony Crivello mourned Christopher's passing on social media, describing him as "always a gentleman, always supportive" and sending his condolences.
Christopher's wife Judith passed away in 2019.
