AceShowbiz - "Saturday Night Live" cast member Chloe Fineman's crush on Paul Mescal took center stage in a recent promo for the show. As Mescal introduced musical guest Shaboozey, Fineman interjected, "Thank you, but I have a boyfriend." When Mescal tried to clarify, Fineman interrupted, "Fine, give me a week. I can make him go away."
Shaboozey, witnessing the exchange, quipped, "I think she's just hearing what she wants to hear."
Mescal will host "SNL" for the first time this Saturday, December 7, alongside musical guest Shaboozey. The 29-year-old country star is set for his "SNL" debut and shared his excitement on social media.
In the promo, Fineman also attempted a joke combining Shaboozey's hit "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" with Mescal's name, saying, "We're getting tipsy on mezcal this week!" However, Mescal swiftly corrected her pronunciation of his last name.
The "SNL" episode will feature appearances by Chris Rock and Martin Short later this month. Rock will host on December 14 with Gracie Abrams as the musical guest, and Short will take the reins on December 21 with Hozier providing the music.
Shaboozey's "SNL" appearance follows a successful year for the musician. He performed during halftime at the Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears football game and received five Grammy nominations, including Best Country Song and Song of the Year.
