In a heartwarming video posted to Grande's Instagram Stories, the "Yes, And?" songstress overheard Edwin listening to "Imagine" at full volume in his car.

Grande, riding in the backseat of her own vehicle, couldn't resist pulling up next to Edwin and rolling down her window. "What's your name? Edwin, nice to meet you!" she exclaimed, before playfully singing along to her own whistle notes. Edwin, understandably flabbergasted, couldn't believe he was meeting his idol. "This made my day," he exclaimed.

Grande explained in her Instagram caption that she had "made a friend" during the encounter. "I couldn't believe my ears," she wrote. "It was blasting. Thank you, Edwin, for making my day." Edwin also shared his perspective of the moment, showing Grande singing along with the window down.

This impromptu duet marked a rare performance of "Imagine," which reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019. Since then, Grande has released two more LPs, "Positions" and "Eternal Sunshine," and has expressed a desire to focus more on acting and musical theater in the future.

Despite her plans to scale back on pop music, Grande assured fans that she would always create new music and perform on stage. "I pinky promise," she said in a recent interview. "But I don't think doing it at the rate I've been doing it for the past 10 years is where I see the next 10 years... I would really love to [act more]."
