AceShowbiz - Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, surprised football fans by appearing at the Grey Cup in Vancouver before the game between the Toronto Argonauts and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He mingled with attendees on the sidelines and waved to excited fans in the stands.
During an interview with TSN's James Duthie, Harry expressed his excitement for the game, saying, "I'm really looking forward to the game getting started, let's go!" He also mentioned that this was his first time attending the Grey Cup.
Harry's visit to Vancouver was to promote the Invictus Games, which he founded in 2014. The Games provide a platform for wounded, injured or sick service personnel and veterans from around the world to compete in various sports.
The upcoming Invictus Games will take place in Vancouver and Whistler from February 8 to 16. This year's event will be particularly significant as it introduces winter sports for the first time, including sit-skiing, snowboarding, curling, and skeleton. More than 500 athletes from 23 nations are expected to compete.
Harry emphasized the transformative power of sport, saying, "Sport has the ability to heal, to change lives and to save lives."
While Harry was in Canada promoting the Invictus Games, his wife, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, attended the launch of Highbrow Hippie, a new haircare line founded by her friend.
