Reeve and Dubin's relationship was first made public in April 2023. They have since made regular appearances on each other's Instagram accounts. Reeve's father, the late actor Christopher Reeve, starred as Superman, while his mother, the late actress Dana Reeve, died of lung cancer in 2006.

In a heartfelt interview with USA TODAY, Reeve spoke about the impact of his parents' loss: "They raised me in a normal, human, grounded way, which mostly gives me a sane approach to everything that life throws at you."
