AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lopez, 55, made the difficult decision to cancel her "This Is Me...Live" concerts in May, leaving fans disappointed but ultimately understanding. While feeling "heartsick and devastated" to let them down, she has since expressed gratitude for the time it gave her to be present for her family.
"I took the summer off to be home with the kids, which is the best thing I have ever done," Lopez said on "The Graham Norton Show" on Friday, November 8. "It was not like me to do that, so I always want to apologize to the fans."
Lopez went on to share an emotional encounter with a fan who had purchased tickets to her canceled concerts. When she apologized for the inconvenience, the fan responded with words that brought her to tears, "Don't say sorry, we love you." The fan was later revealed to be in the studio audience, leaving Lopez visibly touched.
Following the tour cancellation, Lopez took to her OnTheJLo site to express her heartfelt regret to her followers. "I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again," she wrote. "I love you all so much."
According to sources close to Lopez, the decision to cancel the tour, which came amid her strained marriage to Ben Affleck, was not based on ticket sales but rather on a desire to prioritize her family in the wake of her marital separation.
