Carpenter shared her sentiments while kneeling on stage, saying, "I hope we can be a moment of peace for you, a moment of safety." While Carpenter did not explicitly name former President Donald Trump, who was victorious in the election, fellow Vice President Kamala Harris supporter Billie Eilish did not hesitate to criticize him at her show in Nashville the same night. Eilish referred to Trump as a "convicted predator" and "someone who hates women so, so deeply."
Trump's conviction in 2023 for sexually abusing advice columnist E. Jean Carroll in 1996 has drawn widespread attention. He has appealed the verdicts and denied all allegations of sexual misconduct.
