On Instagram, Arroyave praised Mellencamp for her strength and resilience in sharing her skin cancer journey for the "greater good."
On Saturday, November 2, Mellencamp announced the split via Instagram, stating that she had made the "difficult decision" and that her priority was her children's well-being. She added that she felt it was necessary to be "open, honest, and vulnerable" to protect her family from speculation.
Despite the announcement, Mellencamp was still spotted wearing her wedding ring on Saturday. Meanwhile, Arroyave shared a cryptic post about "dark days" on Sunday. "Having good habits is what will get you through your dark days," he noted. "It's when you're under pressure that your true character is revealed."
