Just a week before the announcement, Edwin Arroyave posted a heartfelt tribute to Teddi after they attended a gala together. He praised her for her courage and resilience in her battle with skin cancer.

Teddi and Edwin met in 2009 and married two years later. They have three children together and Teddi is stepmother to Edwin's daughter from a previous relationship.
