Lucas Bravo voices his concerns about his role and expresses frustration over his character's direction on the hit Netflix series, hinting at a potential exit from the show.

AceShowbiz - Lucas Bravo, the French actor who plays chef Gabriel on Netflix's "Emily in Paris", has expressed dissatisfaction with the direction his character has taken over four seasons. In an interview with IndieWire, Bravo revealed that he has grown apart from Gabriel due to the character's choices and direction.
"It kind of became not fun for me to shoot or to see a character I love so much and brought me so much, being slowly turned into guacamole," he said.
Bravo specifically cited the lack of depth and nuance in Gabriel's character, which he attributed to limited creative freedom on set. "We don't have much liberty on set. We cannot change a word or an emotion. They know what they want and we just have to comply," he explained.
As a result, Bravo questioned his return for season 5, stating, "It makes me question if I want to be part of season 5... because my contract ends at season 4." He expressed a desire to see Gabriel return to his original playful and lively self, but acknowledged that the show's producers have been reluctant to take risks. "Pregnant? No, fake positive. Going to Rome? No, coming back. There is a lack of risk," he noted.
Despite his criticisms, Bravo stressed his love for the show and its cast and crew, whom he affectionately refers to as his "Femily." "When you love something you want it to be... you want the best version of it," he said. "I'm not going to lie, I've been frustrated with the direction my character is taking. But we'll see where it goes. The show is not over."
Bravo's comments come amid speculation that his character Gabriel may not return for season 5 after Emily's cliffhanger move to Rome in season 4.
