Emmy-winning host Jon Stewart will continue to lead 'The Daily Show' for another year, providing his sharp wit and incisive political commentary to audiences through 2025.

AceShowbiz - Jon Stewart isn't going anywhere any time soon. "The Daily Show" alumnus, who returned to the Comedy Central talk show in February as an interim host, will continue to anchor the show through 2025, Paramount Global announced Monday.

Stewart will helm the show on Monday nights and share hosting duties Tuesday through Thursday with alternate hosts.

"Jon's incisive intellect and sharp wit make him one of the most important voices in political and cultural commentary today," said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and president/CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios.

"His ability to cut through the noise and deliver clear-eyed insights is exactly what we need, which is why we are thrilled to have him leading 'The Daily Show' for another year."

Stewart's return came after Trevor Noah concluded his seven-year tenure on "The Daily Show," leaving the position open. The show used a rotating series of guest hosts, including Leslie Jones and Sarah Silverman, but had yet to settle on a permanent replacement. With a tumultuous 2024 U.S. election looming, bringing Stewart back seemed a strategic move.

Since his comeback, Stewart has led coverage of the presidential debates and other pivotal moments, bringing his signature blend of humor and criticism.

"I just want to say, after surviving the PTSD of the last presidential debate, how unbelievably refreshing it is to go back to the same old, nobody's going to answer any … questions!" Stewart exclaimed during the Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican nominee former President Donald Trump's first debate head-to-head.

Stewart's return has significantly boosted the show's ratings. "The Daily Show" has seen viewership nearly double since he rejoined, now averaging over 1 million viewers per episode. This renewed success was reflected when the series won its second straight Emmy for best talk series in September.

Stewart, who will also continue as an executive producer, remarked, "I've truly enjoyed being back working with the incredible team at 'The Daily Show' and Comedy Central. I was really hoping they'd allow me to do every other Monday, but I'll just have to suck it up."

The show's regular correspondents - Ronny Chieng, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta, and Desi Lydic - will continue to anchor the show from Tuesday to Thursday each week. Despite the ongoing search for a permanent new host, Comedy Central seems content to ride the wave of Stewart's popularity, ensuring "The Daily Show" remains a critical platform for political satire and commentary.

"The Daily Show" airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central and is available the next day on Paramount+.
