Legendary actress Glenn Close will be honored with the Career Achievement Award at AARP's annual Movies for Grownups Awards for her exceptional contributions to the entertainment industry.

The ceremony will be held in Beverly Hills, California, on January 11, 2025, and will be hosted by Tony and Emmy Awards-winning actor Alan Cumming. The event will be broadcast on PBS's Great Performances on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
Close has captivated audiences with her iconic performances in films like "The World According to Garp", "The Big Chill", "The Natural", "Fatal Attraction" and "Dangerous Liaisons". Her versatility extends from prestige dramas like The Wife and Hillbilly Elegy to family favorites like "101 Dalmatians" and "Tarzan".
Beyond the silver screen, Close has also excelled on television, earning Emmy Awards for her performances in "Serving in Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story" and "Damages".
The Movies for Grownups program advocates for films and TV shows that resonate with older viewers and fights against ageism in Hollywood. Close's career embodies these values, as she has consistently shattered stereotypes and portrayed characters across generations.
