AceShowbiz - "Disney Night" returned to "Dancing with the Stars", bringing enchantment to the ballroom with captivating performances, memorable routines, and unexpected surprises. The night kicked off with a dazzler as Broadway's Michael James Scott performed "A Friend Like Me" as the Genie from "Aladdin", accompanied by choreography from Mandy Moore.
NBA Champion Dwight Howard and partner Daniella Karagach overcame last week's stage fright with a joyful tango to a "Wreck-It Ralph" tune. However, despite the audience's enthusiasm, judge Carrie Ann Inaba pointed out, "But you did have a lot of mistakes and you did go off time a lot." They scored 24 out of 30.
Phaedra Parks from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" danced a jazz routine to "Cruella de Vil" from "101 Dalmatians" with partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy. Judge Derek Hough praised the concept but noted, "There were a few times I felt like you were waiting for him." They also scored 24 out of 30.
Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber's rumba to "Kiss the Girl" from "The Little Mermaid" showcased significant improvement. Hough encouraged Jenn to focus on the hips and rib cage, earning them a score of 24 out of 30.
One standout performance came from Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten. Their jazz number, inspired by Luisa Madrigal from "Encanto", captivated the crowd. "Tonight is about embodying these characters and you did just that," said Hough, giving them a score of 25 out of 30.
Joey Graziadei's Samba to "Trashin the Camp" from Tarzan was a crowd-pleaser. Judge Bruno Tonioli exclaimed, "You Tarzan. Me, too happy to see you," awarding them 25 out of 30. Meanwhile, Super Bowl Champion Danny Amendola's Jazz number to N'SYNC's "Bye Bye Bye" from "Deadpool and Wolverine" wowed the judges with its strong tribute to Marvel, scoring 27 out of 30.
The contestants were later divided into two teams for group performances. Team Roar's performance to "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" from "The Lion King" scored 24 out of 30 but didn't sync well. In contrast, Team Goofs delivered a tight and clean performance to "Eye to Eye" from "A Goofy Movie", earning a top score of 27 out of 30.
The night ended with a tense elimination round, seeing Phaedra Parks and Val Chmerkovskiy bid farewell to the competition. Parks expressed gratitude saying, "Val has been the best coach ever. I want to thank him for being patient and allowing me to explore dance."
