The former POTUS has declared himself the 'father of IVF,' a fertility treatment that has become a political flashpoint following the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

AceShowbiz - In a recent town hall hosted by Fox News, Donald Trump asserted, "We really are the party for IVF." He claimed that Republicans support fertilization "all the way" and that Democrats have attempted to attack them on the issue.
However, Trump's comments follow a series of votes by Congressional Republicans to block bills that would protect the legality of IVF and ensure insurance coverage for the treatment. This has raised concerns among reproductive rights advocates who believe that Trump's stance is inconsistent and could jeopardize access to IVF.
Vice President Kamala Harris criticized Trump's claim, stating that his abortion bans and platform could end IVF altogether. She accused him of taking credit while ignoring the harm caused by his policies to couples seeking to grow their families.
Trump has previously stated that he would enact a federal policy making IVF free of charge, but he has not provided details on how this would be implemented. Senate Democrats have twice introduced bills to guarantee access to IVF nationwide, but Republicans have voted against them.
Despite his support for IVF, Trump also criticized some states' abortion restrictions as "too tough" and suggested they would be revisited. However, he has repeatedly praised the Supreme Court justices he appointed for overturning Roe v. Wade and has expressed support for exceptions to abortion bans in cases of rape, incest, and when the mother's life is in danger.
