AceShowbiz - Lizzo's supposed gap year has turned out to be a busy one. The star recently clarified at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit that she's not entirely taking time off, but rather working hard on her Yitty business and new music.
"It ain't a gap year, it's a grind year," Lizzo stated. "As soon as I stepped down home from tour, I went straight to Yitty headquarters and I've just been working, working, working."
Despite facing allegations of workplace misconduct last year, Lizzo has found solace in creating music, which she's "proud of," and working out, embracing body neutrality over body positivity.
"Our bodies will change ... it's a beautiful thing," she said. "My body is nobody's business, other than me, my doctor, my trainer, and my man."
Lizzo also praised rising star Chappell Roan, seeing similarities in their rapid rise to fame. She advised Roan to seek therapy, emphasizing the importance of mental health in the spotlight.
In addition to her own projects, Lizzo has continued to support other artists, including Beyonce Knowles, with whom she recently collaborated on the song "Break My Soul (Remix)".
Despite previously hinting at quitting music, Lizzo has clarified that she's not giving up on her passion. "I'm in no way, shape, or form the only person who is experiencing that negative voice that seems to be louder than the positive," she said in April. "What I'm not gonna quit is the joy of my life, which is making music."
