AceShowbiz - Melissa Peterman, co-star on the sitcom "Happy's Place" with Reba McEntire and Rex Linn, has given an inside scoop on their adorable relationship. According to Peterman, McEntire and Linn often take breaks from filming to spend time together at the bar set, acting like they're "legitimately on a date."
Despite their obvious affection, Peterman notes that they remain professional on set. "But at the same time, the minute we get back to work, you're back to work and you make her run lines all the time," Peterman told PEOPLE.
Linn, who portrays a short-order cook in the show, echoed Peterman's sentiments. "We're running lines constantly but every once in a while I'll sneak by for a quick kiss, just a peck on the cheek and keep on moving. It's fun," he said.
Peterman joked, "I do that with her too. I don't get the same reaction, but I try to just get a little quick peck on the cheek too."
"Happy's Place" follows Bobbie (McEntire) as she inherits her father's restaurant and discovers she has a half-sister she never knew about. Peterman plays Gabby, a bartender at the establishment who's described as "a bit needy and dramatic."
The sitcom is set to premiere on Friday, October 18 at 8/7c on NBC.
