AceShowbiz - Tekashi 6ix9ine has inked a lucrative record deal with Kartel Music, a lucrative contract potentially worth over $6 million. The rapper, who has witnessed a decline in his hit-making capabilities in recent years, has chosen to switch gears and focus on Spanish-language music. This move is part of his plan to appeal to a broader audience and regain his former popularity.
Under the terms of the deal, 6ix9ine will receive $1 million to complete an album with ten songs. Additionally, he will earn $250K for each concert date on his upcoming tour, which will span the United States, Mexico, and Central as well as South America.
The rapper's decision to cater to his Latino audience is not new. He previously released a reggaeton album titled "Leyenda Viva" in 2023 and collaborated with reggaeton star Anuel AA on his debut English-language album, "Dummy Boy", in 2018.
Despite the less-than-stellar critical reception to his Spanish-language music, 6ix9ine remains undeterred. He recently dropped a diss song for his ex-girlfriend in Spanish and is currently working on his upcoming album, which will be his most focused attempt at crossover success yet.
The deal with Kartel Music includes specific conditions, however. 6ix9ine cannot run into legal troubles or get arrested during the making of the album. This condition arises from his previous legal issues, for which he is currently serving a sentence.
