Brittany Cartwright clarifies legal misconceptions while Jax Taylor admits to filing mistakes amidst their ongoing divorce proceedings and custody agreements.

AceShowbiz - "Vanderpump Rules" alum Brittany Cartwright has recently taken to social media to dispel rumors stirred up by her estranged husband, Jax Taylor. Taylor, also a former "Vanderpump Rules" star, had mistakenly claimed that the couple was not "legally married" in court documents.

Cartwright, 35, cleared the air with a pointed comment on Instagram, stating, "We are legally married. I'm guessing filling out paperwork is hard for some people."

A spokesperson for the couple confirmed the paperwork discrepancies to Page Six, saying it was a mistake and that "those errors will be amended without delay." The rep explained that filing such forms are "usually done by trained legal professionals," underscoring the reason for the mistakes.

Despite the bureaucratic slip-ups, the rep assured the public that Taylor and Cartwright had "long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz" and remain dedicated to co-parenting in their son's best interest.

Further addressing the issue, Lance Bass, who officiated their wedding, took to Instagram to defend Cartwright's statements. "I can confirm this," he wrote, reinforcing that "Pastor Lance signed the papers," thus validating the couple's marriage.

The legal hiccup came to light in early October when Taylor, 45, filed documents giving Cartwright full legal and physical custody of their 3-year-old son, Cruz.

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright's journey has been far from smooth. Their romance began in 2015, and they tied the knot four years later. However, ongoing issues led Cartwright to file for divorce in August, listing their separation date as January 24. In February, she publicized their separation on their joint podcast "When Reality Hits."

Despite the ups and downs, both remain focused on their son Cruz. Cartwright shared with E! News that Cruz comes "first… even if [she and Taylor] are fighting." Taylor, acknowledging the end of their marriage, said in a podcast episode that he wishes for an amicable relationship and hopes to be "an excellent ex-husband."

As they navigate their new reality, Jax Taylor recently checked into a treatment facility and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD. He stressed his commitment to improving himself for his son's sake, stating on Instagram, "Mental health is a lifelong battle of not letting it control you but rather you learning to control it."
