AceShowbiz - In the Monday, September 30 episode of "The Voice", Snoop Dogg attributed his decision to use his one Coach Replay button on Gail Bliss to the presence of his late mother. After Bliss' audition, in which she sang "If It Hadn't Been for Love" but received no chair turns, Snoop explained, "The spirit of my mother is in me right now."
Snoop revealed that his mother's sister was also named Gail and that she was one of his favorite aunts. "You couldn't see me, but I had my hand like this the whole way," he said, hovering his hand over the replay button. "But they added a piece to the puzzle this year called the Coach's Replay, so if I were to push this button right now, you would be on my team."
With a press of the button, Snoop sent Bliss, the oldest person ever to compete on "The Voice", into tears. "My mother's spirit is all in you right now," he said. "I was going to push but I didn't because I was waiting on Reba [McEntire]. I knew if Reba pushed I would lose."
Snoop's mother, Tate, passed away in October 2021 at the age of 70. After her death, he shared several emotional tributes dedicated to her. "Mama thank u for having me," he captioned one post.
