AceShowbiz - Singer-songwriter Chappell Roan has canceled her scheduled performances at the All Things Go Festival due to overwhelming pressures and a need to focus on her health. In a statement on Instagram, Roan expressed her apologies to fans who were anticipating her appearances in New York City on September 28 and Columbia, Maryland on September 29.
"Things have gotten overwhelming over the past few weeks and I am really feeling it," Roan wrote. "I feel pressures to prioritize a lot of things right now and I need a few days to prioritize my health. I want to be present when I perform and give the best shows possible."
The All Things Go Festival expressed its support for Roan's decision. "We strongly support artists prioritizing their well-being," the festival stated. "Let's continue to show the world that music fans support not just the art, but the artists themselves."
Roan's announcement follows a series of challenges she has faced due to her rapid rise to fame. She has spoken openly about inappropriate fan interactions and the mental health struggles that have accompanied her success. In an interview with The Guardian, Roan revealed that she has been diagnosed with severe depression.
Roan has also been criticized for her refusal to endorse a presidential candidate in the upcoming election. However, she later clarified that she is voting for Kamala Harris and will continue to advocate for what she believes in.
Roan emphasized the importance of critical thinking and understanding the candidates before making voting decisions. "I will always question those in power, and those making decisions over other people," she said.
