AceShowbiz - The future of "Selling Sunset" is in limbo. After cast members threatened to quit amid feud, the executive producers of the hit Netflix series are reportedly struggling to assemble the cast for season 9.

A source close to the show reveals to Daily Mail that the show bosses are struggling to decide who should return for the next season, which is set to begin production next month. They are allegedly still mulling over which agents will be invited back.

Despite the contemplation, the execs reportedly ignore Chelsea Lazkani and Chrishell Stause's threats to quit as they take it as mere "public stunts." The source additionally stresses that the streaming giant will ultimately decide who they will keep and who they will let go.

"Filming for season nine has not started yet, and there is still uncertainty about who will be returning or leaving," the insider claims. "The details are still up in the air regarding the cast - but threats to quit from some are quite clearly a publicity stunt."

The source continues, " 'Selling Sunset' is one of the biggest shows globally, offering exposure that is worth millions - it's invaluable, really. In a career that thrives on visibility and public perception, walking away from that kind of platform would be a very unwise decision. The rumors seem more about generating buzz than any real attempt to leave the show."

"Netflix holds the final authority on casting decisions, leaving the cast without any control over who is selected or whom they film with," it concludes. "The cast is fully aware that there are countless girls eager to take their spot in an instant."

Recently, it was reported that Netflix opted to scrap out plans for the season eight reunion show amid the beef between the cast. Chelsea threatened to quit the show after newcomer Amanda Lynn's racist tweets surfaced online. "Made it clear and putting it in writing, if racist Amanda is on the show as a cast member. I'm out," so she declared on X.

Meanwhile, Chrishell might not return if the producers choose to keep Nicole Young. "I would NEVER work on a show with her on it again. I would rather be sued," the actress said in an Instagram Story post, in which she accused Nicole of spewing a "disgusting lie about a bestie that is categorically FALSE and SUPER damaging." Chrishell is likely referring to Nicole's claim that fellow cast member Emma Hernan is having an affair with a married man.
