AceShowbiz - Country music star Jason Aldean has defended his wife Brittany Aldean's stance on gender-affirming care for transgender youth, calling her "very outspoken" and "firm in her beliefs." Brittany previously sparked backlash by comparing such care to "genital mutilation" in a social media post.
"I think when she said that, it's just like there's a certain - I feel there are people that are going to take offense to everything these days, no matter what you say," Aldean told Tucker Carlson. "But I mean, I agree with her."
However, Aldean clarified that he believes individuals should be able to make decisions about their own bodies when they are old enough to do so. He expressed concern about children being subjected to such care before they are of age and able to fully understand its implications.
During the same interview, Aldean also discussed his friendship with Donald Trump. "I love Trump, man," he said, recalling how they met while Trump was running for president in 2016. He shared that he had been invited to Mar-a-Lago and enjoyed playing golf with the former president.
Aldean also defended Trump's actions, despite his conviction for falsifying business records. "I don't really care if he hurts your feelings or not, as long as, like, as a country we're moving in the right direction," he said. "One of the reasons I'm a supporter of his, I just like the direction I feel like he would take us."
Aldean emphasized that he does not vote based on party or personality, but rather on the policies he believes will best serve his family and the country. He expressed optimism that Trump could win the upcoming election although he acknowledged that he had made similar predictions in 2020 that proved incorrect.
