The 'Maleficent' actress is focused on her creative endeavors and the future as she maintains firm boundaries on discussing her highly publicized divorce from Brad Pitt.

AceShowbiz - Angelina Jolie, the celebrated Oscar-winning actress and director, remains resolute about not sharing details on her contentious divorce from Brad Pitt. In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jolie, 49, demonstrated her desire for privacy on certain subjects, revealing candidly why she avoids discussing her personal struggles publicly.

When asked by reporter Rebecca Keegan about the status of her divorce, Jolie succinctly responded with a firm "No." She elaborated on her stance, stating, "Years ago in Hollywood, you could have this messy private process and the work spoke. Now, the audience's relationship is different. I'm trying to get used to what to share."

The interview took place in mid-August at Jolie's $25 million Los Feliz home.

Jolie and Pitt have been embroiled in divorce settlement negotiations since she filed for divorce in 2016. The high-profile duo shares six children: Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. Despite the ongoing legal battles, including a dispute over their French winery estate, Jolie remains focused on her children's well-being.

Reflecting on her current circumstances, she mentioned, "I grew up in this town [L.A]. I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they're 18, I'll be able to leave." She hopes to provide her family with "privacy, peace, safety" and plans to spend considerable time in Cambodia and visiting family across the globe once her youngest children reach adulthood.

The interview also uncovered Jolie's reflections on her limited yet cherished personal relationships. She attributes a lack of close friendships to losing her mother young and significant betrayals over the years.

"Maybe it's losing your parent young. Maybe it's working. Maybe it's being somebody who's been betrayed a lot. I don't have a lot of those warm, close relationships as much that I lean on," she shared, noting that she values her long-time friend Loung Ung and late mother Marcheline Bertrand as key figures in her life.

As she navigates this new chapter, Jolie expressed renewed excitement in her professional pursuits. After a significant hiatus focused on her children's needs, she finds herself ready to return to the industry, participating in projects that resonate deeply with her, such as starring and directing in meaningful films.

Jolie's focus remains on maintaining balance while reconnecting with her audience. The actress noted, "One of the nicest things - maybe the only nice thing - about being a public person is connecting with other people" on shared experiences and emotions.

While Jolie's personal life grabs headlines, it is her creative expression and the deep connections with her audience that continue to define her legacy in Hollywood.
