AceShowbiz - Tekashi69 a.k.a. 6ix9ine has become a wanted man. According to reports, the Judicial District of La Vega has issued an international arrest warrant for the rapper over a domestic violence case in the Dominican Republic.
The country's news outlet Diario Lirbre also claimed that the court has declared the Brooklyn MC "in rebellion" outside the Dominican Republic since June 2024. It is now requesting he be arrested in any country where he is seen if he does not surrender voluntarily before then.
This stemmed from an October 2023 incident where 6ix9ine allegedly assaulted two producers. In a video surfacing online the "GOOBA" spitter and his crew allegedly ran to a producer's home in the country. A few minutes later, the group could be seen leaving the scene.
Although the reported beatdown was not caught on camera, 6ix9ine was later apprehended by authorities after they received reports about the MC assaulting two men. The attack itself reportedly stemmed from an ill-received incident involving his girlfriend.
Felix Humberto Portes Nunez, a criminal lawyer in the Dominican Republic, revealed in an Instagram post that 6ix9ine was trying to board a private jet to flee the country. However, authorities managed to stop the plane and issued a warrant against the hip-hop artist for "blows and injuries, and threats."
It wasn't 6ix9ine's only legal trouble in the Dominican Republic. The hip-hop artist was taken into custody on January 18, 2024, by Santo Domingo authorities for an incident involving his girlfriend, reggae singer Yailin la Mas Viral.
According to CNN, the 28-year-old was accused of "physical and psychological violence against" Yailin, prompting the police to haul him into the Palace of Justice in the DR's capital city. 6ix9ine's attorney, however, has clarified that Yailin denied her boyfriend had assaulted her.
In a statement issued via social media, the lawyer stated that the rapper and his girlfriend both voluntarily appeared before the Violence Directorate at the PGR. We trust in God that the truth will prevail, that justice will be done and Mr. Hernandez will obtain his freedom. We appreciate your concern, prayers and good wishes," the lawyer concluded.
