AceShowbiz - David Beckham's candid interruption of his wife, Victoria Adams, during the filming of their Netflix documentary "Beckham" has not only gone viral but also stirred emotions behind the scenes, particularly with the documentary's director, Fisher Stevens.
David Beckham unpacked the details of the now-famous moment when he corrected his wife, Victoria, about her family's background during Netflix's "Beckham". The heated moment came to the public's attention after Beckham shared the story on the internet show "Hot Ones". He recalled hearing Victoria describe her and David's upbringings as "working class" while he was making coffee and eavesdropping on a set of spare headphones.
"Then, all of a sudden, I heard her say, 'We're working class.' In that moment, I was like, 'OK,' I headed to the door. I opened the door, and I saw Fisher's face, and he was not happy. So that's really, I was like, 'Be honest.' The camera guys were so amazing because, literally, they panned over to me at the door, and that was really a moment that kind of went viral," Beckham said. "But Fisher was not happy."
The director Fisher Stevens confirmed his initial frustration during a behind-the-scenes interview, explaining how he had specifically arranged the interview so that David would be out of the house, giving Victoria space to speak freely. Reflecting on the moment, Stevens said, "I was like, 'Get him out of here!' " but later admitted the scene turned out to be "brilliant" footage, calling it "gold."
