AceShowbiz - "America's Got Talent" returned for a new episode on Tuesday, August 27. In the Part 3 of Quarterfinals, another batch of 11 acts took the stage to impress the judges, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara.
Kicking off the night was singing group Menudo. Howie wasn't really impressed, saying, "Good news, I don't get to vote. It felt like…a Saturday morning kids show on Telemundo." Sofia pointed out their weak vocals, she said they were a perfect show opener.
Following it up was magician Sam Huang, who performed a trick at the judges table with Simon before taking the stage. He made his fingers disappear and appear and he also switched places. Sofia said she wanted to see more of his tricks, while Howie sounded disappointed that Sam's tricks only involved fingers so far.
Later, brother/sister country act Recklaws performed an original song called "Long Live the Night". Sofia thought it was a "catchy song." Simon praised their talent, but he didn't think the song "is going to end the concert."
Dance group Sabrina from Japan offered stunning visuals with their silver flags that night. Simon loved the performance, but he got booed by the audience when he said that Sabrina wasn't as good as the Mayyas, one of "AGT" winners.
Aerial act Kelsey Jane was up next. The dentist showed off her ethereal and graceful routine as she spun round and round before wrapping both feet and soaring through the air. Howie suggested that her act was boring as it lacked a theme. Sofia, meanwhile, didn't love the song, adding that the performance felt "dangerous" to her.
Singer Journeyy performed a ballady cover of Bob Marley's reggae classic "Every Little Thing is Going to Be Alright" at the piano. Simon commented, "You're such a sweet kid with such potential." Heidi dubbed him gutsy, while Sofia called the performance the best thing tonight and "flawless."
Following up was comedian Learnmore Jonasi from Zimbabwe. During his performance, he shared that after he got his green card, he has a gluten allergy. He also joked about how food in America is "too complicated" compared to how things are in his native country. Howie said Learnmore is "so likeable," while Sofia called him a "funny person…joyful and relatable."
Dee Dee Simon then hit the stage, singing "I Lose Control" by Teddy Swims. Simon loved how Dee Dee didn't hold anything back during her performance. Heidi loved her range and tone. She didn't hesitate to hit her Golden Buzzer for Dee Dee.
Musician Maya Neelakantan showcased her guitar skills, performing a Metallica song. Howie called the 10-year-old from India Van Halen reincarnated. Simon thought the performance was "just wild."
Later, Reid Wilson wowed everyone with his cover of Ariana Grande's "Almost is Never Enough". Howie was proud of the fact he hit his Golden Buzzer for the young singer. Simon, meanwhile, suggested Reid to be a true singer.
Jelly Boy the Clown concluded the night. He took the stage to perform icky sword swallowing as Adam Lambert's Bonnie Tyler cover played in the background. "That deserves standing applause," Simon commented, totally impressed. Sofia added, "I've never seen anything more horrific…and exciting."
