Undeterred, fans have rallied to save "My Lady Jane". A coalition known as Save My Lady Jane has launched a comprehensive campaign to convince Amazon to renew the series or find it a new home on another streaming platform.
The petition on Change.org demands the return of "My Lady Jane", citing its unique storytelling and focus on female voices. It also urges fans to rate and review the show on various platforms and contact Amazon executives with their complaints.
Save "My Lady Jane" highlights the show's challenge to fantasy media's reliance on gratuitous sexual violence and trauma. Co-creators Gemma Burgess and Meredith Glynn have emphasized their commitment to creating "an optimistic, safe fantasy show."
The campaign draws inspiration from historical fan activism that has successfully saved canceled series like "Sense8" and "The Baker and The Beauty". There are also numerous examples of canceled shows finding new life on other networks, such as "The Expanse" (Amazon) and "Futurama" (Hulu).
Despite the petition's growing popularity, Amazon has yet to comment on the possibility of renewing "My Lady Jane". However, fans remain hopeful that with enough support, the series could defy the odds and return for a second season.
