AceShowbiz - Ashanti has given birth to her and Nelly's first child. After welcoming a baby boy with her rapper husband, the "Foolish" songstress gushed about loving motherhood in a social media post.

"Funny how life's plans aren't…always on time.. lol," the 43-year-old wrote on Instagram alongside a a photo and video of her flaunting her potpartum body. "I've been waiting to be a mom for a long time now but nothing could prepare me for EVERYTHING motherhood brings!"

Ashanti went on to note, "This is what postpartum looks like I'm loving these super cozy @fridamom shorts!" She went on to exclaim, "I'm so proud of my body for giving me my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby."

Details of the baby's arrival were unveiled by Ashanti and Nelly's representative on Wednesday, August 21. "Ashanti and Nelly welcomed their baby boy, Kareem Kenkaide Haynes, on July 18, 2024. The proud and happy parents are so in love with KK!" the rep told PEOPLE.

Ashanti and Nelly, who first met at a Grammys press conference in 2003, had dated for a decade. They rekindled their romance in 2023, with the emcee confirming their reconciliation in September.

The twosome reportedly tied the knot later that year. According to public records seen by TMZ, their union became official on December 27, 2023, in St. Louis County, the rap star's hometown.

Nelly is already a father to son Cornell III (who goes by Tre), 25, and daughter, Chanelle (who goes by Nana), 30. He also helped raise niece Sydney and nephew Shawn after his sister, Jackie Donahue died of leukemia at 31 in March 2005.
