AceShowbiz - Katie Holmes was spotted running errands in New York City with a head of wet hair after helping her daughter, Suri Cruise, move into her college dorm at Carnegie Mellon University.
The actress, 45, wore a nearly sheer black button-up top and matching black slacks, paired with red flats. Holmes also wore minimal makeup and carried several accessories, including large sunglasses, gold chains, and earrings.
Over the weekend, her ex-husband, Tom Cruise was not present for Suri's move-in day. Cruise was reportedly vacationing in the Mediterranean and was recently photographed landing a helicopter in London. The actor has had limited involvement with his daughter throughout her life.
On the other hand, Holmes has maintained a close relationship with Suri. In an interview with Town & Country Magazine, she expressed her pride and joy for her daughter's new chapter. "I'm really proud of her," Holmes said. "I will miss the close proximity, but I'm happy for her."
Suri, who recently started going by "Suri Noelle," graduated from LaGuardia High School in June and is embarking on her college journey at Carnegie Mellon University. She revealed her college choice in a May TikTok that has since been deleted.
Holmes and Suri were photographed carrying boxes into the freshman's dorm room. Both ladies wore their hair tied back and kept their attire casual. Holmes opted for a pale yellow button-down with jeans, while Suri donned a white long-sleeved shirt and baggy blue Bermuda shorts.
According to the school's website, Suri will participate in first-year student orientation this week before classes commence on August 26. Holmes has expressed her excitement for her daughter's new beginnings, while joking that she will spend more time with her book club friends to cope with Suri's absence.
