AceShowbiz - During Gamescom Opening Night Live, NetEase announced the highly anticipated release date of their free-to-play shooter "Marvel Rivals". The game will officially launch on December 6th, 2024, on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Alongside the release date revelation, two fan-favorite heroes were confirmed as playable characters at launch. They are Captain America and Bucky Barnes, also known as The Winter Soldier.

Captain America, enhanced by the Super-Soldier Serum, utilizes his Vibranium shield and combat skills to confront any threat to justice. The Winter Soldier, on the other hand, has undergone terrifying experiments that have granted him a brainwashed past and a mechanical arm, enabling him to deliver devastating blows to his foes.

The trailer released during Gamescom provided an in-game look at both heroes' abilities and showcased the newest map, Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda.

"Marvel Rivals" is heavily inspired by "Overwatch", featuring team-based gameplay where players assemble squads of heroes and villains from across the Marvel Universe. Notably, all heroes will be unlocked and free-to-play from launch, eliminating the need for microtransactions to unlock characters.

The release date for "Marvel Rivals" was previously leaked online, but the official announcement confirmed that the December 6 date is accurate. The game will also undergo additional beta tests before the full release. Fans can sign up for the beta at marvelrivals.com.

Additionally, "Marvel Rivals" will be enhanced with Unreal Engine 5 for advanced graphics and performance.
