AceShowbiz - Despite previously canceling Australian and New Zealand dates on his "After Hours Til Dawn" world tour, The Weeknd has surprised fans with a rescheduled tour. Originally planned for November and December 2023, the shows were postponed due to "schedule and logistical constraints."
The Grammy-winning artist, Abel Tesfaye, expressed his desire to perform in Australia before embarking on a new chapter in his career. "I want to make sure you all know I hadn't forgotten about you," he stated. "When I return now, it will be the right time, and I promise it will be such a special experience."
However, the revised tour schedule reflects a significant change from the original itinerary. The Canadian artist was initially scheduled for multiple performances in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland. The rescheduled tour, however, consists of only four shows: two in Sydney at Accor Stadium on October 22 and 23, and two in Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on October 5 and 6.
Fans in Brisbane and Auckland will unfortunately be missing out this time around, but the announcement reaffirms The Weeknd's commitment to his global audience. His first stadium performances in Australia since 2017, these shows promise to be a must-see experience for Australian fans.
The "After Hours Til Dawn" tour commenced in July 2022 and concluded in October 2023. This extension provides Australian fans a highly anticipated opportunity to catch the pop sensation live, despite the initial setbacks.
