AceShowbiz - This year's Emmy Awards will see an exciting family affair as Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, the celebrated stars of "Schitt's Creek," take the stage as hosts for the prestigious event. Set to air on ABC on September 15th at 8 P.M., the ceremony will be held at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live.
Following the conclusion of the beloved series "Schitt's Creek" four years ago, the Levys have reunited to bring their combined comedic charm to television's biggest night.
"For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough," the duo said in a joint statement. "We're thrilled to be able to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television and can't wait to spend the evening with you all on Sept. 15."
The father-son tandem is no stranger to awards and acclaim. In 2020, their show "Schitt's Creek" made Emmy history by winning in every major comedy category, including Outstanding Comedy Series, with both Eugene and Dan taking home acting trophies.
Eugene remarked that he is also one of this year's nominees for his Apple TV+ series, "The Reluctant Traveler," which is up for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series. Dan has also been busy with projects like "The Big Brunch" and his Netflix movie, "Good Grief."
Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego expressed his excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome two generations of comedy genius to the Emmy's stage as hosts. Eugene and Dan Levy are known for creating unforgettable laugh-out-loud moments on screen, and together, they are super-charged. I cannot wait for Emmy fans to see what they have in store for all of us."
This year's Emmys will recognize exceptional work that aired between June 2023 and May 2024. The nominations revealed that "The Bear" and "Shogun" lead with the most nods while "True Detective: Night Country" spearheads the limited series category. Notably, the ceremony comes only nine months after the previous one, delayed by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
As the clock ticks down to September 15th, anticipation rises for an extraordinary Emmy night, headlined by the comedic brilliance of Eugene and Dan Levy.
