AceShowbiz - Vicki Gunvalson has been accused of financial and elder abuse by Diane Field, a 74-year-old woman who filed a lawsuit against the former "Real Housewives of Orange County" star.
Gunvalson's attorney has released a statement vehemently denying the allegations, claiming that Gunvalson acted in accordance with Field's instructions regarding insurance products. The attorney emphasized that Gunvalson is a reputable insurance broker with over 34 years of experience and has always acted in the best interests of her clients.
Field alleges that she met Gunvalson in 2016 and was advised to invest in a life insurance policy that she believed was a one-time payment. However, she later discovered that it was an annual fee. Field also claims that Gunvalson and her business partner, Ali Hashemian, took advantage of her financial situation by using "fraudulent sales tactics."
Gunvalson's attorney countered these claims, stating that Field requested the specific insurance products and that Gunvalson's actions were not unethical. The attorney emphasized that Gunvalson "did not engage in any conduct that could be considered financial elder abuse, breach of fiduciary duty, or fraud."
Despite Gunvalson's denials, this is not the first time she has faced allegations of financial misconduct. In 2019, she was sued by an 82-year-old woman who claimed she was misled about the benefits of an insurance policy purchased through Gunvalson's company. That lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice in 2020.
Gunvalson's attorneys remain resolute in their belief that she will be exonerated from these recent allegations. They expressed outrage over the "false accusations" and vowed to vigorously defend her good name.
The outcome of the lawsuit remains to be seen. However, Gunvalson's denials and the history of her business practices suggest that she will mount a strong defense against these latest claims of financial and elder abuse.
