AceShowbiz - Chappell Roan suffered a fashion faux pas during her recent concert. When taking the stage at the 2024 Osheaga, the "Red Wine Supernova" singer showed that she could handle a wardrobe malfunction like a pro.
On Saturday, August 3, the 26-year-old songstress entertained her fans at the Parc Jean-Drapeau on Saint Helen's Island, which is close to downtown Montreal. During her set, she belted out many of her songs, including one titled "Femininomenon".
While delivering the track in front of the packed audience, Chappell, who rocked a pink mini dress that came with fringe detail on its lower part, ran around the stage and showed off her skills in dancing. As she sang in front of a standing microphone, she noticed that there was something wrong with her costume.
Chappell attempted to fix it by herself as she continued singing on the center of the stage. At one point, one of her male crew members ran towards her to fix the fashion faux pas. He was caught on camera trying to take off the fringe detail on the dress.
Before it was completely removed, Chappell turned around, seemingly wanting to help the man. Upon learning that they failed to fix it, she grabbed it and started running around, apparently left irritated by the error. She then punched her feet in the air several times. However, the fringe detail was still attached to the dress. She eventually ripped it off and threw it away, prompting the crowd to cheer.
Despite the wardrobe malfunction, Chappell made sure to go all-out with her performance. She went on to sing, "So let's say it's working out/ You pretend to love his mother/ Lying to your friends about/ How he's such a goddamn good lover."
After hitting the stage, Chappell received positive responses from social media users. One in particular gushed, "The way this happened during Femininomenon at Chappell Roan at Osheaga was so symbolic." Similarly, another exclaimed, "Chappell Roan still performs even during a clothing malfunction at Osheaga...QUEEN."
Meanwhile, a third asked, "I'm so confused why didn't she let him fix it ... was she bothered by it." A fourth assumed, "it wasn't that big of a deal, but he ended up messing it up even more to the point where she just ripped it off. Like wait in between songs or something, not run up behind her right before the chorus."
