AceShowbiz - Get ready for a new adventure in Westeros! HBO Max unveils a first look at the upcoming "Game of Thrones" prequel, "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms", introducing Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg.
In a recent teaser released by HBO Max, fans got a glimpse of the highly anticipated "Game of Thrones" spin-off series, "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms". The teaser introduces us to Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall, a strapping hedge knight, and his young squire, Egg, played by Dexter Sol Ansell.
The prequel, set approximately a century before the events of "Game of Thrones", is adapted from George R.R. Martin's "Tales of Dunk and Egg" novellas. According to the official logline, the series follows Dunk and Egg as they navigate an era when the Targaryen line still rules Westeros and the memory of dragons lingers.
The cast also includes Tanzyn Crawford as Tanselle, Bertie Carvel as Baelor Targaryen, Finn Bennett as Aerion Targaryen, Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Barotheon, and Sam Spruell as Maekar Targaryen. Show officials have emphasized that "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is not intended to compete with the popular "House of the Dragon", but rather offer a glimpse into Westeros during a different time period.
The series, written and executive-produced by Martin and Ira Parker, is planned for three seasons. Season 1 will consist of six episodes and is tentatively slated for a 2025 premiere. Owen Harris, known for his work on "Black Mirror", will direct three episodes of the inaugural season.
"A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" joins a growing lineup of "Game of Thrones" spin-off projects, including "House of the Dragon", which recently aired its season 2 finale. Fans can catch up on the world of Westeros by streaming "Game of Thrones" and "House of the Dragon" on Max in the U.S.
