AceShowbiz - Eminem is set to release his eagerly anticipated album "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace)" this Friday, July 12. In a new trailer, he provides a glimpse of what fans can expect, complete with an unexpected reference to the viral meme "HAWK TUAH."
The trailer opens with Eminem spitting on the headstone of his "beloved antagonist," Slim Shady, in the pouring rain. The inscription on the headstone reads, "Beloved Antagonist Slim Shady 1997-2024 It Feels So Empty Without Him," harkening back to lyrics from his 2002 hit "Without Me."
"It feels so empty without him," Eminem captions the post, adding "#HAWK TUAH" and the album release date of July 12. Just before the trailer ends, a battered and bruised hand emerges from Slim Shady's grave, suggesting his alter ego will make a comeback on the new album.
The trailer also hints at themes of resurrection and death, which have been prominent in Eminem's recent work. In his recently released "Tobey" music video, he was seen going after Slim Shady with a chainsaw.
Along with the trailer, Eminem has also unveiled the album's cover art, which shows Slim Shady peeking out of a partially zipped body bag, and the tracklist, which features 19 songs, including a sequel to "Guilty Conscience" from "The Slim Shady LP". Guest appearances from Babytron and Big Sean have been confirmed, and rumors suggest that there may be more.
Eminem's new album follows his 2020 release "Music to Be Murdered By". Fans are eagerly anticipating its arrival and are delighted by the intriguing teaser trailer that references the popular "HAWK TUAH" meme.
