AceShowbiz - Sexyy Red, the St. Louis rapper known for her bold style and chart-topping hits, is facing significant challenges with her latest "Sexyy Red 4 President" tour. According to reports from The Art of Dialogue and Touring Data, ticket sales have been far below expectations, raising concerns about the tour's future.
Despite Red's previous successes, only 37.11% of the 85,217 tickets available for 20/24 North American dates have been purchased, resulting in an average capacity of around 6,800. Several venues have been downsized to accommodate the lower attendance.
Red has taken to Twitter to refute reports of cancelation, stating that her fans are buying tickets and that any rumors of cancellation are false. She has accused "bigger companies" of trying to sabotage her and spread fake news to discourage fans from attending.
"My fans are buying tickets we're doin just fine," she tweeted. "We not cancelling no tour dis cancelling s**t all cap [two cap emojis]. Dis how Dey try to do u wen u go wit an independent promoter n the bigger companies try to sabotage u we not cancelling s**t."
"I did my touring deal with a black promoter black owned company AG Entertainment and now Dey playin dirty paying pages spreading fake news to discourage my fans from buying tickets."
Some industry observers believe that the tour's poor performance may be attributed to various factors, including market saturation, ineffective promotion, economic conditions, shifts in audience preferences, or negative publicity.
Despite the setbacks, Sexyy Red has expressed resilience and a willingness to learn from her experience. She has indicated that she plans to engage more with her fans, explore new avenues, and continue growing as an artist.
The rapper's career has been marked by high-profile hits such as "Throw Sum Mo," "Freaky Bih," and "Red Light," which have earned her critical acclaim and a dedicated following. However, the disappointing tour numbers serve as a reminder of the challenges and complexities of the music industry, and the importance of effective marketing, audience engagement, and adaptability.
